1.- Sensodyne Total Protection

This brand is produced since 2001 by the company GlaxoSmithKline and specializes in special toothpastes for treating tooth hypersensitivity. Potassium nitrate is the ingredient that causes decreased sensitivity by blocking the nerve endings that are connected to the dental pulp. Sodium fluoride, titanium dioxide and strontium chloride are other elements present in its formula.

The laboratory tests carried out by the OCU indicate that this product has a highly effective cleaning and stain removal and a medium abrasiveness that is suitable for cleaning without damaging the enamel. Among its ingredients, we find sorbitol, silica and sodium fluoride in a concentration of 1450 ppm. As for the price, it is four times lower than the most popular brands and with similar effectiveness.

3.- Colgate Total

Users indicate that it has a good taste, excellent texture, leaves the breath freshbut its whitening and stain-removing effect is not the most powerful. However, it makes it into the top 5 list because of its fluoride content and antibacterial qualities attributed to its active ingredient, Triclosan.

4.- Deliplus Total Action

This is a private label belonging to the Mercadona supermarket chain. It is believed that the white brands are of inferior quality but the OCU study is responsible for clarifying the issue. Its active ingredients are sodium fluoride and silica and what makes it stand out is its quality-price ratio, as it offers excellent cleaning and anti-cavity protection at a fraction of the average price.

5.- Binaca Antibacterial Formula Gums

Since gum disease is often caused by the action of bacteria, the use of a toothpaste whose active ingredient is the triclosan becomes a matter of urgency, as it is a broad-spectrum bactericidal ingredient. However, since triclosan can be toxic, its use should be restricted to a maximum of two weeks treatment.

  1. It is a shame that you can sell oral B electric toothbrush which I have stopped using it when it is created by two holes along the replacement brush that when it gets wet water seeps through them and creates a lot of black tartar crap that is always moisture always remains seques you or golpeciitos by shaking it .that's when I saw what hechaba around ...And the metal where the replacement goes to enroñecido !please that disgust I could catch and it was not because I did not do the replacement every 1month and above with what I am already the first and with many expenses to have it as it is ....ah!!! And the brush I have him saved and I could not take it to ocu(consumers) because they only work in the mornings and I also in the hospital sorry for this letter extension and thank you very much bs

    • Hi Nati. I myself currently use an oral b toothbrush that we recommend in our review, specifically the 2500. It is true that you have to take good care that dirt does not accumulate in some corners due to moisture, but with some care and changing the refills in due time does not generate me too many headaches. Maybe they could improve it in some way but I think it's complicated due to the constant exposure to water. Even the manual brushes if you don't take care to leave them in a dry place they get black and ugly in some areas. Regards

  2. hello, I use ORAL-B electric toothbrush with batteries... I'm doing great and the toothbrush is the second one I've used, it has never turned black, nor the metal where it is fitted either, I just miss that there are not brushes a little stronger, instead of so soft... Thank you very much, regards...

  3. The most important thing is to maintain a continuous oral hygiene routine, visit the dentist regularly and avoid tobacco and sugary foods.

Among the many brands of toothpaste, there are good and less good, but the vast majority do their job.
